Dust off your cowboy hats and boots! It’s time to sign up for the SaddleBrooke Ranch Horseback Riding Group’s fifth annual “Chuck Wagon Dinner.” This year we will be at Old Tucson Studios with all its iconic Western lore. The horseback ride or stagecoach ride and dinner will be held on Saturday afternoon, November 5. This event is open to anyone at SaddleBrooke Ranch. This fun event starts with a choice of either a one-hour trail ride through parts of the park and the beautiful Sonoran desert, or a 20-minute horse drawn stagecoach ride through Old Tucson Studios and the set for High Chaparral and other Westerns. Afterwards we all meet up at cool and comfortable “Big Jake’s” for a dinner of BBQ pulled chicken or sliced BBQ brisket, cowboy beans, coleslaw, biscuits and hot apple cobbler dessert with a choice of fountain drinks. During dinner we will be entertained by our own Sandy Jessop from right here at SaddleBrooke Ranch with a selection of her favorite folk songs. It is sure to be an event to remember!

Reservations need to be made not later than Sunday, October 30, by sending an email to Don Williams at [email protected]. The price is $85 per person for the one-hour horseback ride and dinner, or $45 per person for dinner and the 20-minute stagecoach ride through the park. This price includes entry into the park, tip and tax. Upon receiving your email reservation we will send you more details and let you know options for where to bring your check. Everyone on the horseback ride will also need to sign a waiver upon submitting their check for their reservation. All reservations are final as of Monday, October 31, and all checks will be cashed at that time as we must turn in the final numbers and pay the venue then.

The day’s events will start with horseback riders arriving by not later than 3:00 p.m. at Old Tucson Studios, 201 S Kinney Road. The venue is about 65 minutes from SaddleBrooke Ranch. Participants should plan to leave the Ranch no later than 1:55 p.m. to arrive at the venue on time. We can help with carpools if needed once we have the final list of participants. Please let us know at the email below if you would like to carpool so we can help make the arrangements. The stagecoach ride will start at 3:30 p.m.

If desired you can arrive at the park early and enjoy the many attractions, presentations, tours and memorabilia that Old Tucson Studios has to offer. The park opens at 10:00 a.m. and admission is included in the event price. There is a lot to see and do, so if you have not taken the opportunity previously this may be a good time.

If you would like more information about the SBR Riding Group, please see the SBR HOA club website for the SBR Horseback Riding Group or contact Don and Rebecca Williams at [email protected]. If desired you can be added to the email list so that you get complete information about each ride with the opportunity to sign up. This is an informal group with no specific commitment to any particular ride or number of rides. If the date and time fit your schedule you are welcome to sign up and join in the fun.
