Butterflies in the desert

Yvonne Bourgeois, the Butterfly and Orchid Exhibit Manager from the Tucson Botanical Gardens, will be the guest speaker on butterflies at the monthly Thursday Talk Series on April 20 at 4:00 p.m. Her talk will include information about monarch butterfly migration through Arizona. It is fascinating to learn how these fragile looking insects demonstrate real strength and adaption in order to travel great distances. Come learn how they do it. Yvonne will address the life cycle of the butterfly and discuss differences between butterflies and moths. If you have any questions and would also like to know how to attract butterflies to your yard, Yvonne is the person to ask. The Tucson Botanical Gardens is a five and one-half acre collection of 16 different gardens, which include a Zen Garden, a Prehistoric Garden, a Barrio Garden, a Butterfly Garden and a Children’s Garden. Come and join us for an interesting discussion at 4:00p.m. on April 20 in La Mesa/La Montana Room at La Hacienda Club.
