The SBR Technology Club has been running classes and workshops using Zoom during August. Students and attendees have found this method to work very well in learning about smartphones functions, Mac functionality, and Microsoft applications.

September classes, workshops, and Special Interest Group (SIG) will continue using Zoom. We are offering a SIG on “What’s New in the Apple World” and “Cutting the Cord, an update.” Classes for Mac users will be; “Using iCloud;” “Using Time Machine,” “Using Photos,” and “Customizing your Mac.” Classes for Microsoft users will be “Excel Advanced Topics” and “Excel Intermediate Topics.” You will need to register for these classes, workshops, and SIGs at www.sbrtechnology.club.

During the SIG, “What’s New in the Apple World,” will be more of a discussion in the world of Apple, and showing videos from the Apple Developers Conference.

Don’t know Zoom? Make an appointment with a monitor during the open lab sessions to assist you on how to download the app and log into a session on Zoom. Register by clicking on the calendar for the day you can come in by going to the club website www.sbrtechnology.club.

Needing technical assistance on your smartphone or computers? Sign up for an appointment with a monitor on duty during the open lab sessions. Go to www.sbrtechnology.club website, and sign in with your password. Click on the events calendar to see what specific skills are available to assist our members. Click on a time you want to schedule, then register to come.

The Tech Club is excited to add a new service for our members. After receiving a grant from Pinal County Board of Supervisors Partner/External Agency Funding program, the club purchased equipment to establish a personal digital archiving system for the use by our club members. This system will allow the scanning and storing of family documents and photographs tied with family history projects.

Monitors have been trained to provide training/assistance in doing this process. A user’s manual has been developed by our lead monitor, Mike Nicholson, to help you through the process. You can make reservations on the club website for a time when monitors trained on this service are available.

If you are not a member of the Technology Club of SaddleBrooke Ranch, now is a good time to join. You can come in to the technology room where we are limiting the number of people in the room, keeping six feet of distance, as well as wearing masks.
