Colorado Club Ropes Up Another Great Event at Ranch Rodeo

Linda Shannon-Hills

With their jeans, boots, hats, and a few bandanas, members of the Colorado Club dressed in their best western attire for the inaugural Ranch Rodeo on Feb. 6. Western décor adorned the walls, the tables, and the bar in the Ranch House Sol Ballroom while buzzing with over sixty people laughing, socializing, and posing with their friends. Before dinner, we welcomed new members to the Ranch and the club.

For dinner, we were served a western fare of pulled pork sliders, ranch house beans, and coleslaw followed by cookies for dessert. Tables surrounded the dance floor to allow the members to dance, but few took part with the music we played. Next year the committee promises to have proper country dance music playing for those active feet.

The big winner of the raffle was Bob Frank, taking home $100. The rest of the pot—going to future events for the club.

Everyone told us they had so much fun that we need to do the Ranch Rodeo again next year, so stay tuned for future plans.

A big thanks goes to the social committee, Pete and Roxanne Watson, Vicki Warning, Toni Graves, Lorraine Smith, Alastair and Helga Stone, plus Linda Shannon-Hills for the great work planning and executing this special event.

Future events for the club include a Gelato Social on Sunday, March 8; Breakfast in the Bistro in May; Wine and Dine in July; a Social on the Patio in September and our fourth annual Progressive Dinner in early October.
