Dress A Girl Around the World Sew-a-Thon November 2

Margaret Thompson

The Dress A Girl Around the World Sew-a-Thon will be held on Nov. 2, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene, 500 W. Calle Concordia.

Dress a Girl Around the World is a national organization that sews dresses for little girls living in poverty. Many of these little girls are wearing rags, with a good number orphaned and living in unsafe environments. We believe that by having a dress with the Dress a Girl label on the front, these little girls are marked as loved and protected!

During the Sew-a-Thon, dresses will be made in assembly line format. All fabric and dress supplies will be provided. You just bring your sewing machine, basic sewing supplies, and your talent! There are jobs for non-sewers too. Last year at the Sew-a-Thon, participants told us they had a wonderful time, the event was well organized, and they felt they were contributing to something bigger than themselves!

All dresses made during the Sew-a-Thon will be taken on mission trips in 2020.

Please come and join us and bless little girls around the world!
