The SaddleBrooke Ranch Riding Group is ready to head down the trail at some old favorite venues as well as some new. On Saturday morning, October 1, the group will head to nearby Pusch Ridge Stables. Pusch Ridge is an excellent place to start for those who have not ridden in a while. The one-hour trail winds gently through the foothills of the Catalina State Park and offers some great views of the magnificent mountains east of SaddleBrooke Ranch, views you don’t get speeding by in your car.

On Saturday morning, October 15, the group will be heading to Oracle for the first time, to the Triangle Y Ranch. Here a nice wide trail ambles up to the mining claim and ranch of Buffalo Bill Cody. This 90-minute ride will include some commentary on the history of the location and some of the local lore about those who lived at the ranch.

On Saturday, November 5, the group will head to Old Tucson Studios for the fifth annual Chuck Wagon Dinner. This event allows both horseback riders and those preferring to take a stagecoach to enjoy the sights at this great location and then gather to enjoy a western themed dinner together. The trails give great views of some of the most iconic scenes and mountains from famous movies and TV shows of the Old West.

The fall season finishes on Saturday, December 3, at Hacienda Del Sol just off Sunrise. This trail is surprisingly secluded despite being nestled in an urban setting. Meandering through an arroyo below some truly lovely homes up on the bluff, it is a quiet, peaceful ride with some great places nearby for lunch afterwards.

The SaddleBrooke Ranch Riding Group is open to any SaddleBrooke Ranch resident. There is no need to attend all of the rides. Come to the rides that fit into your schedule. The group’s secretary coordinates the reservations. Prior experience is not required. The rides are typically one hour to 90 minutes at a walk, just to enjoy the scenery. If you are interested in receiving more information on the SaddleBrooke Ranch Riding Group, please contact the group secretary, residents Don and Rebecca Williams, at [email protected].
