Classes are in full swing for the fall season. So what’s next? It really is time to sign up for the winter season. Rebecca has been teaching at the Ranch since October of 2012. There is dancing for all skill levels whether new to line dance or an experienced veteran. Level 1/beginners and Level 2/improvers are at the Hacienda, and Level 3/intermediates over the hill in SaddleBrooke.

Line dancing is fun and exercise. Line Dance is the third most participated in senior exercise worldwide. Why? Because it’s fun and doesn’t hurt! Rebecca teaches three different levels of her class with an emphasis on humor and self-improvement and without stress. When it comes to aging, James Fries, MD, Stanford University stated, “If you had to pick one thing that comes the closest to the fountain of youth, it would have to be exercise.” Rebecca teaches with an emphasis on humor and self-improvement. You can progress to the next level at your own pace or stay in a class level forever. Several of your neighbors now come to SaddleBrooke for the most complex dancing. Ranch Level 1/beginners and Level 2 for the more advanced dancer both meet Wednesday afternoon. Classes are restricted in size so you must register with Rebecca in advance to attend, and winter classes are nearly full.

Line dancing is a stress relieving activity, and we laugh out loud many times in every class. The focus of the sessions is just to have some great fun, exercise, learn and laugh at ourselves. We can improve our quality of life with some hearty guffaws, and our successes on the dance floor we giggle or laugh out loud when we get the dance right or when a dance gets the best of us. Come join in for some good times, laughs and some exercise. Health benefits include: improved memory, better balance/coordination, more socialization, music therapy (proven helpful in maintenance/recovery of brain function) and improved general fitness.

Dance varieties in class expose you to many forms of dance music including: Swing, Country, Tango, Waltz, Cha Cha, Rumba, Charleston, Samba. So you can “dance with your heart and your feet will follow!”
