Norman Schickedanz

OTR (old-time radio) fans will meet Tuesday, November 7 at 1:30 p.m. in SaddleBrooke. They will listen to Rudy Vallee’s Fleischmann Yeast Hour from 1935 with guests including actor Leslie Howard and boxer Joe Louis

Club members come from SaddleBrooke and Tucson. They listen to OTR shows and share interests, experiences and enjoyment in radio programs from the 1930s to 1950s.

In recent months members have listened to Arch Oboler’s “Chicken Heart” from Lights Out, The Jack Benny Program from 1945 starting the “I Can’t Stand Jack Benny Because” sequence, and Screen Directors’ Playhouse’s “The Killers” with Burt Lancaster and Shelly Winters from 1949.

Meetings take place the first Tuesday of the month in a home. If you are interested in attending, call Norm Schickedanz at 818-7817 for more information and directions.
