Oracle School District

The Oracle Schools Foundation is proud to announce its upcoming 2016 “Read to Succeed” Gala. It comes on the heels of last year’s “Toast to Teachers” Gala, which was a huge success raising over $17,000 for needs-based preschool scholarships.

Much of the money raised last year is already in action, funding 16 scholarships for this school year with the help of generous donors and grants from the SaddleBag Notes Board and the SaddleBrooke Outreach Education Committee. The Oracle Schools Foundation’s dream is its vision: “A beacon of excellence in public education.” Research shows that a solid foundation early in a child’s life can make all the difference in both their school and life successes. In fact, the payback on preschool funding can be as high as $7 for every $1 spent. Not only do children who attend preschool get a “leg up” on preparedness for kindergarten and beyond, but also they are less likely to drop out of school (25%), become a teen parent (40%), be placed in special education (50%), never attend college (60%) and be arrested for a violent crime (70%).

Tickets for the event are $50, and sponsorships are available. There will be a live auction with exciting offerings, and the Mountain Vista Elementary School Orchestra will perform. Tickets can be purchased on our website or by mailing a check to P.O. Box 5454, Oracle, AZ 85623.

“We are looking forward to building on last year’s success,” said Ed Hartman, president of the Oracle Schools Foundation Board. “The community has been extraordinarily supportive, and we hope we can count on that to continue. With our continued focus on preschool and now early childhood literacy, we have a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact for the students of the Oracle School District.”
