Ranch Players debut performance receives rave reviews

Leslie Gordon

The Ranch Players presented their premiere performance Sherlock Holmes and Murder in the Casbah under the direction of Josephine Zara.

The two shows in November were SRO (standing room only) for audiences of nearly 100 people each evening.

The Ranch Players is a new club offering chamber theater performances. This comprises a small group of actors usually performing in a room rather than on a stage. It has an intimate, accessible feel. There can be narration and the actors keep their scripts in hand as they perform.

The goal of the Ranch Players Club is to offer quality plays while giving residents the opportunity to explore all aspects of theater, both on and off stage. Direction, prop and costume management, light and sound technology, publicity, website maintenance and stagehand muscle are much needed skills. And, of course, acting. The Ranch Players productions are a unique way to engage with old friends, to build new friendships, to learn and all the while to have fun working side by side. Come and join the fun!
