Ranchers brighten the holidays

Marlene Diskin and Kim Schweitzer

We are proud to report that for the 10th year, generous Ranchers have supported the “Adopt-a-Family” program that brightens the holidays of many of our neighbors to the north.

The Mountain Vista School provided information about 20 families who qualified for participation in the program. Our SBR residents then selected an ‘angel’ from our holiday tree and generously donated gifts of clothing and toys, or chose to make a monetary donation that was used to buy food for the families.

In the first of two deliveries, a caravan of cars, SUVs and trucks delivered 73 beautifully wrapped gifts to the school on December 12. A second delivery of food is scheduled for December 19.

Thank you to volunteer coordinators Kim Schweitzer, Betty Ryan and Marlene Diskin.

At this special time of year let’s remember the words of Albert Schweitzer, “Even if it’s a little thing, do something for those who have need of a man’s help; something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it. For, remember, you don’t live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.”
