The new Sol Ballroom at the SaddleBrooke Ranch House provided a beautiful setting for the Ranchette Putters’ 2018 annual award luncheon. Outgoing president Vicki Godbey presided over the event, announced the winners and recognized the high standards that have been set for the upcoming year.

The Roadrunner Award was presented to Terry Pendy for having the lowest average score of 35.89. Terry’s name will be engraved on the club’s plaque, located in the trophy case at La Hacienda Club. Evie Thompson had the next lowest score with 36.97, followed by Doris Carlin with 37.07.

Awards for most holes-in-one went to full timer, Janice Neal with 66 and part timer, Alyce Grover with 55. The award for best attendance, with 40 qualifying sessions, went to Randy Brosnahan. Congratulations to all of these ladies for their excellent and consistent performances.

Members-at-large participated in a chance to win one of 30 raffle prizes, including six putters! A table full of pink bags contained additional prizes: four golf shirts, three purses, an assortment of hats, visors, winter gloves, golf towels, sun screen and wristlets. The beautiful floral centerpieces were also raffled off. And every attendee left with a ‘goodie’ bag containing candies.

Ranchette putters were pleased to have five sponsors present at the event: Les and Leslie Brown – the Sell, Buy and Rent Team from Oracle Land & Homes; Allison Honeycutt from Golf Cars of AZ; Charlotte Eckmeyer from Safco, Insurance Services and Dennis Eckmeyer from New York Life. The group was especially tickled when Les Brown won a hat in the raffle and wore it during the event.

In recognition of her services, Vicki Godbey was presented with an SBR golf jacket and golf shirt. Vicki and her outgoing board received a rousing round of applause for their services in 2018. The group then welcomed incoming president Jacque Hendricks and her enthusiastic team.
