Ranchette Putters host Sunset Event

If you drove past the SBR putting green in the late afternoon of April 25, you would have noticed 98 people testing their putting skills. That was the evening the Ranchette Putters hosted a Sunset Event, where 49 guests joined 49 club members in a fun activity.

Teams of two or three couples were scattered around the 18-hole green. Friendly competition, lots of good-natured advice and boisterous praise filled the air. Teams socialized after the event while Jeanne Bianchini, our statistician, compiled scores.

Prizes were awarded to the teams with the lowest averages, as well as the individuals with four or more holes-in-one. Additional prizes were won by every putter who aced the money hole.

Outstanding performances by Vicki and H.G. Godbey, Nancy and J.D. Olsen and Denise and Larry Sandoval turned in the lowest average score of 38.33. Two teams tied for the second lowest average of 39.00: Dianne Bradley and Jeff Harbert with Pat and Tom Kanitz; and Sandee and Larry Bickelhaupt with Brenda Mills and Jean Elaine Parfet.

The right touch and a good line enabled the following putters to sink four or more aces: Terry Carlin, Brian Grover, Tom Kanitz, Jim Mansmith, Larry Sandoval and Tony Zoellner.

Congratulations also go to our money hole winners: Les Brown, Frank Engraff, Dale Farland, Connie Garrison, Brian Grover, Tom Kanitz, Barb Miller, Harley Schlachter and Tony Zoellner.

The evening was a great success and provided an opportunity to get to know the friends or family of our club’s members. Ranchette Putters is grateful for the continuing support of our sponsors: Oracle Land & Homes, Les and Leslie Brown; Xpert Automotive, Joe Pate; Golf Cars of Arizona, Allison; Safeco, Eckmeyer Insurance Services, Charlotte Eckmeyer; New York Life, Dennis Eckmeyer CLU, CHFC, LUTCF; Oakley Signs & Graphics, Ken Levitt and Patrick Shaffer, DDS.
