SaddleBrooke Community Outreach

Hey look at us…SBCO presents our new mission statement and enchanced logo

In February 2016 the SBCO Board met to review our progress since SaddleBrooke Community Outreach (SBCO) was founded in August 1996, 20 years ago, and to discuss our role in the future. Since the beginning SBCO has continually expanded its programs to provide more services for the kids we support in communities throughout Pinal, Pima and Gila Counties. Twenty years ago SBCO began by providing used clothing to children. Today their programs have expanded to provide new clothing, scholarships, tutoring, food and support for community programs. SBCO serves approximately 4,000 kids from Head Start through the 8th grade each year. SBCO also aids selected teens to participate in Teen Closet by providing appropriate clothing as they enter high school. Graduating high school students can apply for SBCO scholarships.

For 19 years our Mission Statement was “To make a positive impact on the lives of needy school children in neighboring communities by improving self-esteem, school attendance and scholastic achievement.” When we looked at other successful nonprofit organizations’ Mission Statements, we found they were succinct and described what they do. Our discussions led us to believe that the following statement better describes our Mission today: “Providing opportunities for kids to succeed.” SBCO will use this Mission Statement to launch its 20th year.

Next, we evaluated our logo and unanimously agreed that, like our Mission Statement, it needed updating. The original logo is a sun with rays coming from it and spells Outreach. Previously the logo was enhanced by adding the phrase “It’s all about the kids!” describing what we do. The membership team decided that adding the silhouette of kids playing in grass would reflect the kids we are helping. The SBCO office has been refreshed to reflect our new look. If you would like to see our office, please stop by 63675 E. SaddleBrooke Blvd, Suite L, and see the beautiful artwork by Ron Andrea. We are open Monday through Wednesday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

We hope you appreciate our new look. However, one thing hasn’t changed. That is our need for volunteers for all of our programs. For more information please visit our website, www.community-outreach.org, or call 520-825-3302.
