Tucson’s Rescue Community needs your help!

Look what you made possible

Within hours before a dog was to be dumped at the county shelter we called a local rescue for help. She had 16 dogs in her home and $2,800 in vet debt, but her immediate response was “Yes, I’ll take him.” Tucson’s Rescue Community is an unsung hero behind Pima Animal Care Center’s exceptional live release rate, rescuing many hundreds of pets annually who would otherwise not survive. Rescues rehabilitate the sick, hurt, senior and distressed but at a great financial cost.

Fourteen groups in our campaign have an annual vet budget of well over $100,000. Hundreds of volunteers, most with full-time jobs, spend every spare moment saving, vetting and rehoming these pets. There is just no time to fundraise, but without medical services pet rescue comes to a screeching halt. Pet lovers dream of a no-kill community, but are we ready to support the front line workers? Tucson citizens must help!

Thanks to your generous support we’re coordinating a $1 for $1 matching gift campaign up to $10,000 to raise even more money in our first city-wide campaign “Christmas in July – Payoff Vet Debt.” Our goal is to raise an additional $10,000 in 30 days!

Donations are tax deductible and will be allocated equally to participating groups. With no expenses, 100% of gifts will go directly to rescue vet accounts. Learn more at www.payoffvetdebt.com.
