The MountainView Clubhouse Ballroom was full as 121 tickets for the annual Birthday Club luncheon and fashion show had been sold. Twenty-two fantastic outfits from Maya Palace were modeled by our own resident models from SaddleBrooke Ranch. Prior to the modeling the ladies enjoyed a luncheon of tri-salad followed by crème brulee. It couldn’t get much better than this. Yet it did. Following the fashion show, 13 raffle items were awarded as well as a gift certificate worth $50 at Maya Palace! The ladies of the Birthday Club had yet another great social event.

The Maya Palace has two locations, one at Casas Adobes (Oracle and Ina) and the other at Plaza Palomino on Swan near Fort Lowell. The fashions shown were picked by each model and ranged from casual linen and cotton outfits to elegant evening wear. Maya Palace’s unique selection of purses, shoes, scarves and jewelry helped to complete the look of each outfit. There are even some attractive shirts for the man in your life. Our two male models modeled examples of these. Personal shopping assistance is offered to all customers at Maya Palace. A complete bridal shop is also available.

Nini Falconer, president of the Birthday Club, thanked all of the participants who worked so hard behind the scenes planning this event, as well as the 11 models and others who worked during the event to make it fun for all. Pat Hargrove did a wonderful job coordinating the models. Martha Sampson was “girl Friday,” as well as designer of the printed invitations and programs. Please see our photo(s) by Florence Messer for the names of our models.

The Birthday Club membership is open to all ladies of SaddleBrooke Ranch. It meets each second Monday of the month at 11:30 in the Hacienda Club. It is a wonderful venue for old and new residents to socialize, share a light lunch and enjoy a speaker from the greater Tucson area. The fashion show is one of the more special events of the Birthday Club. Please just show up for our next luncheon on the second Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m. There is a small annual dues, and each lunch is $12. As a member your lunch is free in your birthday month. For more information please contact Nini Falconer at [email protected] or 520-229-9966.
