Under the direction of Sheila Bray, SBRTA Events Chairperson, the SBRTA annual dinner committee worked tirelessly to ensure an enjoyable evening for all. The three-course meal that was created was well prepared and delicious. Tennis themed table decorations gave the room an elegantly festive look. Chocolate tennis balls that enhanced the table décor, created by Beena Ordahl, were an added treat for the attendees.

Honey Deuce was the signature drink served at the SaddleBrooke Ranch Tennis Association’s annual dinner on March 24 at the La Hacienda Club in SBR. Since 2007 the honey deuce has been enjoyed by thousands of fans attending the U.S. Open Tennis Tournaments in New York. Our SBRTA tennis enthusiasts were able to enjoy the honey deuce much closer to home. It was an ace!

“SBRTA vs. U.S. Open Champions” was a game board raffle activity overseen by Susan Engebertson and Jan Martin. Door prizes were awarded to the winners. Of course, SBRTA was the overall champ!

Tennis trivia quiz teams were formed by the group sitting at each table. Ten tough questions were announced by Dean Alfrey. You could hear the enthusiastic buzz throughout the room as team members searched their memory banks and collaborated to come up with the answer to each question. The winners earned “bragging rights” and were the team seated at table number six.

Sheila Bray, Committee Chair, presented a lovely bouquet of orange-hued roses to Janice Neal, SBRTA President, in appreciation for her hard work on behalf of the membership.

As always the evening did come to an end. We look forward to doing it again next year. Please plan to join us. Good friends, good food and good fun await us!
