The pandemic prevented many events last year, but the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light the Night was not one of them. At least, not here at SaddleBrooke Ranch, where we stayed strong, brave, and resilient.

Our 6th annual cancer walk was turned into a drive, as more than 25 golf carts joined together last October at the virtual Light the Night Golf Cart Ride!

Along with an impressive number of team members, we didn’t let the pandemic stop us from once again winning a prestigious fundraising award!

As a community that always comes together, we ask you to join us once again for the 2021 LLS Light the Night Walk this year on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. (festivities start at 5 p.m.), at Park Place, 5870 E Broadway Blvd., Tucson.

There is no cost to join but donations are welcome.

By joining our team and raising funds for this important cause, you’ll make a real impact on the fight against cancer. We come together as a community to honor survivors, raise awareness of blood cancers and all cancers, and remember those who have lost their battles.

Please join the SBR’s Supportive, Brave, Resilient Team by registering at pages.lls.org/ltn/az/TucsonL21/sbr.

Raise $100 and you will receive a t-shirt (all cancer survivors get a survivor shirt).

Can’t attend the walk? Feel free to make a donation to the team member of your choice by logging on to pages.lls.org/ltn/az/TucsonL21/sbr and clicking on the team member from the “Donate to a Team Member” section on the right side of the page.

In Memory

This year we remember two past Light the Night supporters who recently lost their battles with cancer. Carol Smith wore her infectious smile while working the fitness center until 2019. So many of you knew Patrick Hendricks as the loveable security guard who helped look after our properties. Carol passed away Nov. 28, 2020 and Patrick passed on Feb. 23, 2021. To honor their memories as friends, neighbors, and Ranch employees, we are asking that all general donations go to one of their fundraising pages.

They are both sorely missed, but their memories are a blessing.
