On March 19 and 20, the SaddleBrooke Ranch Women’s Golf Association held its 2018 President’s Cup Tournament. The President’s Cup is a two-day low net tournament. Thirty-six women competed in four different flights to become the 2018 SBRWGA President’s Cup Champion.
After the first day of competition, Bonnie Stark led the field with a low net of 65; with Linda Sherfy, net 67 and Carol Mihal, net 69, close behind. Day one was cold and blustery but Bonnie’s net 65 beat the league’s average by over 11 shots! During the second day of competition, Bonnie Stark was declared the winner of the President’s Cup scoring another 65 low net with a two-day score of 130. The overall scores reflected that 19 women golfers shot net par or better. Congratulations, Bonnie, for an outstanding job winning the title of 2018 President’s Cup Champion!
First Flight Winners: 1st place Barb Simms; 2nd place tie Jean Cheszek and Mary Snowden.
Second Flight Winners: 1st place Deb Shelton; 2nd place Carol Mihal; 3rd place tie Cheryl Reddy and Carole Erickson.
Third Flight Winners: 1st place Linda Sherfy; 2nd place Pilar Borm; 3rd place Stephanie Gaskill.
Fourth Flight Winners: 1st place tie Susan Ness and Jeanne Hansel; 3rd place Terri Fraser.
Closet to the pin winners for day one were Hole No. 5 Sterlyn Robertson and Hole No. 14 Mary Hoover. Day two winners were Hole No. 2 Barb Simms and Hole No. 12 Diane Taylor.
The ladies of SBRWGA not only enjoyed friendly competition, but also a wonderful luncheon provided by the Hacienda Club Bistro organized by Social Chair Mindy Hawkins.
