Sew What?

Linda Shannon-Hills

Sew What? We ask this question a lot in our group as we continue to make different items for ourselves, friends, family, and charities. This group is designed to teach basic sewing skills, hold instructional sessions on non-clothing sewing projects for yourself, friends, or grandchildren such as pillow cases, tote bags, mesh bags, wine bottle bags, Christmas gifts and decor, table runners, notebook covers, and much more.

If you have not sewn since junior high economics but would like to see what you can create, join the Sew What group. We meet on Monday mornings from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and again on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Some days we have classes taught by volunteers in the group while other days, you can come in with your projects to use the various sewing machines available for several Needle Arts groups.

Membership is $20 per year and you will get sewing machine orientation and training. Once you have qualified to be a monitor, you can come into the room to use the machines and supplies during open times.

To join, contact Linda Shannon-Hills at [email protected] or go to GroupWorks and ask to join Sew What.
