Join The Gardeners Exchange on September 9 at 1:00 p.m. for an afternoon of horticultural education with Phil Seader, owner of Green Things Nursery in Tucson. Phil’s voice is familiar from his weekly radio call-in Q and A on 1030 AM Radio The Voice, heard on Saturday mornings 7:00-8:00 a.m. Phil will give us important information about getting started with gardening in the desert. He’ll take your questions and provide humor and effective ideas for solving common plant problems.

All garden enthusiasts are welcome. Bring your questions, bring your answers, bring any extra plants that need a new home and bring your good company to share. The Gardeners Exchange is dedicated to providing horticultural education and having a good time while doing it.

Mark October 21 at 1:00 p.m. on your calendars. The Gardeners Exchange will host Peter Warren, Pima County Urban Extension Agent, for an informative talk about “Pesticide Safety.” Peter will discuss pest control and the importance of proper pesticide applications. As a bonus, Peter will give us a second talk on a class of pesticide called neonicitinoids. Current news on the use of these pesticides in commercial applications is raising concerns about our consumer safety and the collateral damage to beneficial insect populations. Learn all about it from Peter Warren on October 21. This event will be held at La Hacienda Club, SaddleBrooke Ranch.
