Babs Barney-Steeves
From Aug 26 through 29, four gals from the Social Bridge Club did their summer travel trip to play bridge and tour the area. This trip’s Divas were Carol Male, Babs Barney, Linda Sue Jensen, and Ann Bixby-Smith. They stayed at the Scottsdale Links Resort and enjoyed playing a lot of bridge, as well as seeing parts of that area. One of the highlights of the trip was their outing to The English Tea Room in Cave Creek.
The Diva gals played 270 hands of bridge, using the same rules they use in the club. They paid five cents for every set trick. At the end of all play, the player with the highest total score was awarded all of those nickels for their top score. This year’s grand prize went to Ann Bixby-Smith.
