Treats and Talents Charity Auction March 11, 2015

Ann Vernon

Mark your calendars and plan to attend the eighth SaddleBrooke Treats and Talents Charity Auction from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the HOA One clubhouse. This auction began in 2007 as a Unit 21 affair and has evolved over the years into a SaddleBrooke auction with steering committee members comprised of people throughout this community. Currently we are busy soliciting donations for a silent and live auction, and we need your help! If you love to bake, sew or are crafty, we need your talents! Please consider taking auction donation forms (download from the website at www.treatsandtalentsauction.weebly.com) with you to restaurants or businesses you frequent. Consider getting a group of friends and neighbors together and offering a fixed price event, the unique feature of this auction. With several people sharing the cost and work it is a great way to generate a lot of money for worthy charities. Examples of some of the fun fixed-price events in the past include: the 50s Fling, the Beach Boys Blowout, a bird hike with brunch, a wine tasting event, a turtle party chocolate class, a fire pit party and much more. You must attend the auction in order to sign up for a fixed-price event; most events will list a specific date, so bring your calendars.

The last auction raised over $41,000, and proceeds went to worthy charities such as IMPACT, SBCO and Youth on Their Own. Most of the monies are targeted for educational programs and scholarships. Obviously the money goes to worthy causes, and with your support we hope to raise more than $41,000 to give to people in need.

Join us on Wednesday, March 11, and bid on the library dinner, an overnight at Westward Look, or a $500 gift certificate for remodeling donated by Greg Smith of SaddleBrooke Remodeling. Or, sign up for a pig roast at It’s Greek to Me, a Mexican Fiesta party, a Lemon Drops and Flip Flops event, and other fun fixed-price events. Please spread the word…this is a gala affair typically attended by over 200 people. There is no cost to attend. Please contact chairperson Ann Vernon at [email protected] or call 520-825-6804 with questions and to submit donation forms, which are due by February 13. All items must be received by March 1.
