Would you repeat that again?  I didn’t hear you.

Listen up! Don’t take your ears for granted. Hearing loss is the third most common health problem in the U.S. and it can affect the quality of your life and relationships. One out of three people age 65-74 has some level of hearing loss and nearly half of those older than 75 have difficulty hearing.

Certain conditions, including age, illness and genetics, may play a role in hearing loss. Modern life has added a host of ear-damaging elements to the list, including some medications and plenty of sources of loud, ongoing noise.

With so many untreatable cases of hearing loss, prevention is the best way to keep hearing long-term. If you’ve already lost some hearing, there are ways to stay connected and communicate with friends and family.

Join the Wellness Roundup to welcome Richard Felder from the Hearing Centers of Arizona in Oracle to talk about hearing loss and options you have to maintain your quality of life. He will speak at the Ranch on Thursday, July 18, starting at 4:00 p.m. in La Mesa Room in La Hacienda Fitness Center.

The Hearing Centers of Arizona have access to and are well trained in working with all major manufactures of hearing devices and technology but with an emphasis on BrainHearing. Oticon BrainHearing Technology skillfully balances innovation with a focus on people, upholding their mission of “People First” and their promise to empower people to communicate freely and interact naturally and participate actively. All of their patients are different and it is important to us to have this access in order to provide a personalized solution for each patient.

Ric Felder discusses the effects of hearing loss and the correlation to dementia and heart conditions. He will also discuss proper technology and how it plays a large and important role in hearing health care, but it is only the tool. The real solution lies in our processes of auditory rehabilitation.

Starting in August, clinicians from The Hearing Centers of Arizona will be coming to SaddleBrooke Ranch to conduct complimentary screenings for our residents. Signups will be taken at the talk.

Don’t miss this great talk on July 18, at 4:00 p.m. on hearing loss.
