California Club host Poker Run party

Deena Ream-Robinson

Poker with a “twist” was the theme of the latest California Club event held March 3. Attendees drove to four different homes to pick up their playing cards for five-card poker. The fifth card was waiting at the Clubhouse when they checked in. Geri Green outdid herself with poker-themed décor. After enjoying food and drink from the Bistro and the comradery of fellow Californians, it was time for the Big Game. Ron Green, the Pit Boss, oversaw the opening of players’ cards – who would have the winning hand? Leslie Brown had two queens; Mike Beckley had a flush; Ken Robinson had four Queens – the winning hand! He won $50! The party ended with a raffle for lots of wine and Bistro gift cards, a Chargers blanket (won by Wanda Bailey) and gift baskets.

The Club’s goal is to plan an activity every quarter. Our next event will be in June/July. If you are interested in joining the California Club or have suggestions, please email Deena at [email protected].
