The California Club kicked off 2016 with their first event, a Happy Hour at the Hacienda Club on June 8.
Attendees were invited to wear their favorite California duds and send in photos of themselves in their favorite California spots for a slide show.
Co-chairs Deena Ream-Robinson and Anne Terrell decorated the tables with fresh citrus and California state flags. As guests checked in they were asked to write their CA hometown on name tags and “pin” their city on a giant map of California. A continuous slide show of well-known California places sprinkled with club member personal photos played in the background.
There was lots of lively conversation as old friends reconnected and new friends were made. One surprise was the number of residents from Temecula, CA. They could start their own wine club.
The club’s goal is to plan an activity every quarter. Our next event will be in September/October. Deena and Anne are looking for volunteers to help plan the next event and they certainly welcome ideas.
