Fall clogging classes with Carol

Florence Messer, Coyote Country Clogger

For everyone waiting for a beginner’s clogging class, your wait is over. Carol Jones will be teaching an easy level class starting Monday, Oct. 21. The class starts at 2:30 p.m. and is held at SaddleBrooke One, Arts and Craft room number 3. We start out slow but you will be clogging by the end of the first class. All you need to get started is a comfortable pair of flat soled tennis shoes and clogging taps (which can be purchased at class) to glue onto your shoes. That’s it, that’s all you need to become a clogger.

One of Carol’s students said, “If you want to learn to clog, just show up every week.” Clogging is similar to tap dancing but unique in the fact that you don’t need to be graceful or have previous dance experience. Our taps are hinged so you can make a lot of noise, and we are all encouraged to yell “Yee Haw” whenever the time feels right.

If you’ve ever wondered if you could learn to clog, now is the time. Our promise to you is that you will have a good time. We have a very special motto that we would like to share with you: We clog so our arteries won’t! It really is exercise for the body and mind. Bring a friend or two and join the fun.
