Those of us Knit Wits who stay here all summer long are keeping busy. In the last month we had a lesson on creating crochet-edged lap robes, mainly donated to veterans and sometimes used also as baby blankets to various charities. Lorna and Georgiann were our teachers for this class, which provided fleece with holes created along the edges, for our projects.
Several members of the group also visited the MountainView lobby and participated in “KIP” day; they knitted in public. This shows how relaxing and creative knitting can be.
In June we also had a road trip to Grandma’s Spinning Wheel, a knitting shop on the east side of town. Lunch also happened that day. We really don’t sit still for too long.
Summer is a bit quieter in the Knit Wits room. Maybe some of you have visited during the height of snowbird season and found the room a bit noisy; it does happen. Summer is quieter, and if you would like to give us another try please stop by room 4 at HOA One Arts and Crafts Center. We are there every Wednesday from 9:00-11:30 a.m. and would love to meet you.
