Local professor is guest speaker at Democratic Club

Kim Schweitzer

Dr. Michael Dues, Professor and Debate Coach at University of Arizona, was the featured speaker at our August meeting. Dr. Dues has spent 40 years not only as an award-winning teacher and respected scholar but also as a successful organizational consultant, working with both public and private organizations on the human aspects of management.

He led a lively discussion on how people should talk fairly to one another.

As our meeting was just a day after Senator John McCain passed away, the club observed a moment of silence in his memory. In addition, the club will be donating to a local charity in the Senator’s honor.

Club meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in the La Hacienda Club.

For information, send your name to [email protected] to sign up for our mailing list or call Matt Nelson, SBR Dems President at 651-414-1334.

The general purpose of the club shall be to promote the philosophy and policy of the Democratic Party and to function as a political organization subject to the laws and rules of the State of Arizona for Political Organizations.
