Putters survive blustery start to December

Camille Esterman

Bone chilling weather greeted the Ranchette Putters the first Wednesday of December. In spite of wearing winter clothing, many members shivered, had numb fingers and welcomed a cup of Bistro coffee after the event.

Conditions, however, were moderate for the rest of the month. Dressed in holiday garb, we even enjoyed a holiday brunch provided by our sponsors: Oracle Land & Homes, Les and Leslie Brown; Xpert Automotive, Joe Pate; Golf Cars of Arizona, Allison; Safeco, Eckmeyer Insurance Services, Charlotte Eckmeyer; New York Life, Dennis Eckmeyer CLU, CHFC, LUTCF; Oakley Signs & Graphics, Ken Levitt and Patrick Shaffer, DDS.

Monthly prizes are always given out to putters with the first, second and third lowest average scores and ladies who scored six or more holes in one.

Ranchette Putters is pleased to announce our December winners. Debi Kerth turned in the third lowest average of 38.000. Evie Thompson took second place with an average of 37.333. The first place honors went to Doris Carlin with a top average score of 37.000.

Reading the green and sinking the ball with one stroke takes a lot of skill. Char Eckmeyer received the December prize for her six holes-in-one.

Ranchette Putters congratulates our December winners and invites all female residents of SBR to join us for a fun weekly event. Check out our bulletin board by the pro shop for more information or contact Marian Bianchini at [email protected].
