The SBR Ranchette Putters is a hardy group! They have endured the summer heat and the “No Putting” time due to winter overseeding of the putting green. To celebrate things getting back to normal, a Putting Clinic was held on October 26 by Mike Jahaske, Director of Golf, and Ken Steinke, Assistant Golf Professional. We had a great turnout with almost 40 putters in attendance!

Mike started the clinic by giving a half-hour talk on putting basics and common putting errors. One of the most valuable parts of the talk was when he covered how to identify what you are doing wrong and steps to correct it. Properly lining up to the hole appeared to be the most common and challenging problem. After Mike’s presentation the putters broke up into groups around the green to practice their putting while Mike and Ken went around to give individual help to each putter.

The clinic lasted almost two hours. A big thanks to Mike and Ken for their patience in individually counseling such a large group and answering the many questions.

All SaddleBrooke Ranch ladies, either full or part-time residents, are welcome to join the Ranchette Putters. You do not need to be a golfer to enjoy our group! Our aim is to make new friends, have fun and enjoy the outdoors. If you are a golfer, improving your putting skills is another added plus to being a member.
