Last call for the annual Community Outreach Walkathon

Nan Nasser

The SBCO annual Walkathon takes place on Saturday, October 29, beginning with warm-ups by Vital Moves in the parking lot at SaddleBrooke HOA One, 64500 SaddleBrooke Blvd., SaddleBrooke, at 7:30 a.m. There are two walks, a short one up toward the fire station and a longer one around Ridgeview. Water stations are placed along the routes, golf carts will patrol the roads for safety and your leashed four-legged friends are welcome. Walkers will be led off by this year’s Grand Marshalls.

Once back at SaddleBrooke Clubhouse you can enjoy a scrambled egg breakfast, visit with sponsors and students from participating schools and take a final stab at a winning raffle ticket. Tickets are sold for $1 each, or six tickets for $5. Prizes include gift cards to both HOAs, a gift basket from Gadabout Salon, Diamondback Baseline Tickets for next year’s season, American Express and Costco gift cards, a Coyote Golf Cart full service and even a stud finder from Ace Hardware.

Registration has begun. Adults are $30 each and children under age 12 are $15. With the registration you receive a Walkathon t-shirt, which is your ticket to the breakfast. You don’t have to walk to attend the breakfast, but you must register at the SBCO Office at 63675 E. SaddleBrooke Blvd, Suite L or you can register online at www.community-outreach.org with PayPal.

Join the fun, walk with friends and join in celebrating the 20th year of SBCO providing opportunities for kids to succeed.
