SaddleBrooke Ranch Voices join the Oaks Chorale

The five Ranchers who sang in the Messiah in December from left to right: Bob Drury (Tenor), Barbara Drury (Soprano), Ann Deverman (Alto), Alastair Stone (Tenor) and Barbara Drake (Alto).

In December 2018, five singers from SBR sang their hearts out in the Messiah Sing-Along with the Voices in the Oaks Chorale. They were more than a little pleased that a couple of dozen Ranchers were in the Oracle Center for the Arts (OrCA) to enjoy the music.

Singing were Bob Drury (Tenor), Barbara Drury (Soprano), Ann Deverman (Alto), Alastair Stone (Tenor) and Barbara Drake (Alto).

In January 2019 four singers from SBR began practicing for their next OrCA event on March 15 at 4:00 p.m. for the St. Paddy’s Day Concert.

“When Irish eyes are smiling, Sure it’s like a morn in Spring.

In the lilt of Irish laughter, You can hear the angels sing.

When Irish hearts are happy, All the world seems bright and gay,

And when Irish eyes are smiling, Sure they steal your heart away.”

So, come and celebrate St. Paddy’s Day with the Voices in the Oaks Chorale!

Wear your green and come hear the sweet sounds of the chorale as they sing arrangements of traditional Irish folk songs to commemorate the day.

The choral concert will open with Cattle Street Gathering, an instrumental group, specializing in the music of Ireland.

Wear your dancing shoes! The five-piece band will be performing Irish jigs, reels, slip jigs, slides, hop jigs, polkas, waltzes and airs played on guitar, flute, fiddle, bass and more!

All this for $10 in the amazing OrCA facility; if you haven’t been there before, you will be surprised!

Your SBR singers are Steve Hanns (Bass), Barbara Drake (Alto), Nancy Carson (Alto) and Alastair Stone (Tenor).

Come and support your friends and neighbors. Feicfidh mé ann thú!
