What is the difference between Health and Wellness? Health originally meant absence of disease, both physical and mental. Wellness, on the other hand, is the state of living a healthy lifestyle. At SaddleBrooke Ranch many of us want to live a healthy lifestyle and moved here to improve our lifestyles. Wellness is the key to aging people keeping their health, their mental skills and their quality of life. With this in mind, we have started a new program at SaddleBrooke Ranch called Wellness Roundup. In the beginning we will bring in health and wellness experts to talk about their specialty. As the program becomes more established, the advisory board will include more activities around wellness.

To kick off the program, Jae L. Dale, CEO of Oro Valley Hospital, visited SaddleBrooke Ranch on Tuesday, October 6, to give a talk to our community. He provided an overview of the hospital, discussed trends in the healthcare industry including quality and patient safety. He discussed how Oro Valley Hospital is addressing those important issues. It was an outstanding talk. We look forward to having Jae Dale back in the future.

Oro Valley Hospital is the newest hospital in the Tucson area, with 146-beds and located one mile west of Oracle Road on Tangerine. Jae Dale is responsible for the operations and strategic management of the facility and off-campus locations including Rancho Vistoso Urgent Care, The Sleep Centers of Oro Valley Hospital and numerous physician clinics.

The next Wellness Roundup will be on Tuesday, November 10, at 6:30 p.m. Topic is “Adjusting to Retirement” with a representative from Pinal County Departmentt on Aging.
