Thirdsty Thursday drew the largest gathering yet since it began in June. More than 25 people from SaddleBrooke One and Two and SaddleBrooke Ranch met at the Roadrunner Grill on August 20 for two hours of unstructured socializing, appetizers and beverages. Eight new members were introduced to other Freethinkers and enjoyed dynamic discussion in a happy hour setting. “Thirdsty Thursday” is a monthly opportunity to get to know each other better. There is no guest speaker or formal agenda, just a casual atmosphere, friendly conversation and lots of free popcorn. Newbies are always welcome as well as golden oldies.

Thirdsty Thursday gatherings are held on the third Thursday of each month from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. during happy hour at the Roadrunner Grill, year round. Here are the dates for the rest of 2015, so put them on your calendar: September 17, October 15, November 19 and December 17. Can’t make it on time? Need to leave early? No worries. Just pop in when you can, leave when you must at this social event. And watch for information about our regular monthly meetings usually held the fourth Sunday, October through April.

We are a non-sectarian group with no creeds, no dogmas, no obligations and no dues. According to our organizational charter we “believe in the responsible search for truth and meaning and in the application of reason and science to the understanding of the universe and the solving of human problems. We believe that tolerance, compassion, equity and civility should characterize the interaction among peace-loving persons and organizations.”

Anyone may attend Thirdsty Thursday as well as the more structured meetings usually held on the fourth Sunday each month, October to April, which often feature a guest speaker. For announcements of upcoming programs and summaries of past programs, go to www.sbfreethinkers.wordpress.com.
