On June 7 the SBR Bocce Club held its 2nd Annual Member “Hot Shots” Tournament at the SBR Bocce courts. The 45 participants enjoyed a hot dog or hamburger and chips from Ed’s Dogs and then participated in a head’s up competition where participants rolled bocce balls in an attempt to get inside a three-ring target to score as many points as possible. To make it more challenging, the competition consisted of rolling bocce balls four different ways: left-handed, right-handed, banking off the side, and backward between their legs. Prizes were awarded to the top four participants in each category.
A great time was had by all. We encourage members to keep on the lookout through the club website and periodic e-blasts for additional upcoming Bocce Club member events, such as our charity event on Sept. 9 and our Second Annual Member/Sponsor Appreciation Event on Friday, Nov. 17.
