October is typically a very busy month here at the Ranch. Snowbirds are beginning to fly south to the beautiful weather Southern Arizona has to offer. We see the start of many seasonal events both in town and here at the Ranch. So now is the time to mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Cancer Support Group’s FUNraiser Auction:
Friday, Oct. 16, 6:30 to 9 p.m.
SBR’s La Hacienda Bistro
Special entertainment provided by SBR’s own band, AZ You Wish!
Last year’s auction was a spectacular success, raising over $7,000 for Blood Cancer United. Together with personal Team donations, our community raised over $15,000!
Join us as we come together to support individuals and families affected by cancer—both nationally and right here in our community. Our goal is to make a meaningful impact by supporting vital cancer programs while also assisting our own neighbors. A majority of funds from the 2026 Auction will go directly to Blood Cancer United, with a small amount held here in the SBR Community to help fund administrative costs, as well as customized Cancer Care boxes for neighbors recently diagnosed with cancer.
We are currently looking for auction item donations from residents and community businesses. This summer, our 2026 auction committee members will be targeting community businesses for donations. Last year’s donations included gift baskets, massage and beauty certificates, restaurant gift cards, and beautiful art created by artists both here and within the Tucson metropolitan area. Aside from artwork, all auction items must be new.
If you have something to donate and/or would like to help secure donated items, please contact us to coordinate requests. All donations will be accepted starting Sept. 1, so if you are a Glasshopper, Mudslinger, painter, weaver, quilter, jewelry maker, or woodworker (did I leave anyone out?), please email sjessop@att.net with the following information:
1: Type of auction item
2: Picture (preferred) or general description
3: Estimated cost for resale
4: Your phone number used in case of questions
For more information or to volunteer for this event, please contact Sandy Jessop at sjessop@att.net or 520-686-4566.
