The pandemic continued to create concern about allowing the Red Cross Blood Drive at SaddleBrooke Ranch. To help the Red Cross out, the SaddleBrooke Ranch volunteers went to Resurrection Lutheran Church in Oro Valley to hold our July 11 Blood Drive. This was the highest registration for a Ranch Blood Drive—81 donors registered. We were able to collect over 66 units of blood to help the emergency need for blood donations.
We thank the Red Cross staff for making the blood drive safe for donors, with more steps to clean and sanitize areas. Temperatures were taken before going in to register and doing histories before donating.
A special thanks to SaddleBrooke Ranch volunteers Deb Schreiber, Bonnie Richter, Vicki Warning, Maria Astaire, Maureen (Mo) Ball, and Linda Shannon-Hills.
The next blood drive is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19.
