Like many of clubs and groups at SaddleBrooke Ranch, the Wellness Roundup had suspended talks due to the pandemic quarantine. Now that summer has moved into fall, we are starting the Wellness Roundup talks using a different method to present to our Ranch neighbors.
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m., we will host Dr. Jack Fincham, Doctor of Pharmacy, to present a talk titled “Over the Counter Pain Medications: Benefits and Cautions” via Zoom video conferencing. Registration is required.
Register in advance for this meeting at shorturl.at/sAQYZ.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
Each kind of pain medicine has benefits and risks. Some types of pain respond better to one kind of medicine than to another kind. What takes away your pain might not work for someone else. Dr. Fincham’s talk will give you a better understanding of what medicine might benefit your pain and when to be cautious.
Dr. Jack Fincham is a practicing pharmacist, an author, and health care systems consultant. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy, and the University of Minnesota where he obtained his Ph.D. in Social and Administrative Pharmacy. He has completed a Post-Graduate Certificate Degree in Health Economics at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland). He has researched varying topics pertaining to health economics, international health, pharmaceutical marketing, patient compliance, public health, medication management, avoiding medication risks, the Medicare Part D Drug Benefit, and drug use in the elderly. Dr. Fincham has teaching and research expertise in research designs and methodology, statistical analyses, economic evaluations, grant writing, and outcomes evaluations. He has served as a member of the U.S. FDA Nonprescription Drug Advisory Committee, as a special emphasis panel member evaluating Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Centers for Education and Research on Therapeutics (CERTs) proposals and has conducted local, regional, and national educational programs for the CMS, the FDA, Department of Justice, and Social Security Administration pertaining the Medicare Drug Discount Card Program from 2003-2006.
Dr. Fincham moved to SaddleBrooke Ranch with his wife Melinda in May 2020. They look forward to meeting more neighbors and becoming more involved with our community.
