The first session of the GriefShare program will be “Loss of a Spouse,” held on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1:30 p.m. A social distancing, small group meeting will be held at the Community Church of SaddleBrooke Parish House, as well as by Webex online. The meeting will include a video presentation for those who have experienced the loss of a spouse, whether it has been recent or many years ago. Christian professional counselors and lay persons who have been through the grief process will be featured on the video. The meeting will include an opportunity to discuss the content of the video, as well as share and process your grief. This seminar will enable you to think about the future with a measure of hope. Anyone who has experienced the loss of a spouse is welcome. For those who would like, a booklet that corresponds with the video is available. A donation of $5 is optional for the booklet.
A second meeting, “Surviving the Holidays,” will be held on Oct. 25. This session is designed to help you cope with some tough emotions during the holidays, with a plan that can bring peace. In November, we will begin the 13-week GriefShare program which will guide you through your journey of grief. Anyone who is interested in attending in person or by Webex should contact Cari Block at [email protected] or 858-243-3747 or Stuart Bridges at [email protected] or 661-972-4310. We will need your reservations for the in-person or Webex internet meetings and to provide you with further information.
