The Horseback Riding Group is looking forward to their fall season with the first ride schedule for Saturday, Sept. 25. The group will be riding with the Rockin’ K Ranch that does rides from a number of trailheads. The location for the first ride will be posted on the group’s website when it becomes available.
Since, by definition, a horseback ride keeps riders at least 6 feet apart, the group has been able to continue its normal activities. The group rides monthly at a variety of stables from September to April, with the exception of January. This past year, the group enjoyed not only morning rides, but also a sunset ride in the Saguaro East National Park, which was really beautiful. This-coming year, the group hopes to participate in a breakfast ride and a cowboy cookout at Tanque Verde Ranch. Both of these will be dependent on the level of interest and the situation with the pandemic.
If you would be interested in the group’s activities, go to the SaddleBrooke HOA website, Click on “Things to do,” then “Clubs.” There, in the middle column, is a link to the Horseback Riding Group. Click on that and then the link under the information for the secretary, Rebecca Williams. There you will see a webpage about the group’s activities and can click on the “Read News” section for upcoming rides.
If you would like to participate in a particular ride, simply click on the link at the bottom left under “Contact Us,” give your name, the ride you want to join, and the time if there is a choice. The secretary will get back to you with a confirmation and can help with any questions you may have. You can participate as often as you choose. All rides are one hour and at a walk, just to enjoy the scenery. You can also sign up for “Alerts” on the site. Watch for the confirmation email, which comes out about 24 to 48 hours later, to confirm your email. Then you will receive an email about any upcoming rides as they are announced.
