Join us on Tuesday, Sept. 7 (first day of Rosh Hashanah), at 5 p.m. The Shalom Club of SaddleBrooke Ranch invites you to gather by the pond (across from La Hacienda Club) for a short Tashlich service.
The Tashlich service is wherein we symbolically cast our sins into the water and leave our old shortcomings behind us, thus starting the new year with a clean slate.
Traditionally, we toss small pieces of bread or breadcrumbs to represent our sins. We have been told by Robson Management that tossing bread in the pond will not endanger the fish or birds.
So, bring a small bag of your “sins” and join with your fellow Shalom Club members and others to recite the Tashlich prayers. Prayers will be provided (in English).
We will also have individually wrapped apples and honey sticks to symbolize sweetness as we begin a new year.
* All appropriate COVID-19 safety measures will be followed.
No RSVP necessary. Bring a friend.
* The purpose of this tradition, as stated in our prayer, is to “lift my troubles off my shoulders, wash away my sins and problems and open my heart to blessing and gratitude.” In addition to our sins, we release our bad thoughts, sadness, and anything that gets in our way of holding a heavy heart and begin anew.
