Welcome New Neighbors

Debra and David Van Tassel are snowbirds from Colorado who are looking forward to pickleball, biking, and swimming, along with some bocce ball and bunko. When they are in Arizona, they can be found “on the circle” in Unit 9A.

Sharon and David Steen are here all the way from Virginia. They liked the vibes at SBR. He is a former U.S. Army. They are looking forward to playing bocce ball, pickleball, and golf, and joining the wine club. He plans to play softball. They are at home in Unit 9B.

John and Carla Marquardt, now of 4B, moved from Wisconsin. She will be busy teaching ukulele and piano. He likes to eat all kinds of food and to exercise.

Liza Strub is getting settled in Unit 4B while her husband, Chuck Coxe, finishes packing things up in Georgia, which was their home for many years. She loves the pools at SBR and swims laps. Currently she is deciding where to volunteer her time.

Scott and Jan Lowry, formerly of Washington State, now call Unit 3 home. Jan is looking forward to working in the pottery shop and joining a book club. Scott wants to do woodworking and play golf. Both enjoy ballroom dancing and would like to take some conversational Spanish classes.

Karen and Mark Admanson took family vacations to Arizona before moving here. They lived in Chandler for a while. They are now at home in Unit 17. When not playing pickleball or tennis, they plan to join the wine club. She enjoys cooking and being an American Red Cross volunteer.

Dave and Peg Malphurs moved from Colorado to Unit 16B. They enjoy socializing at the frequent unit parties. Their daughter and grandkids live in Tucson.

Di-Ann and Jelle Boot moved from New York City to enjoy the desert landscape and to explore the western U.S. Also on their agenda is pickleball and golf. Both are originally from the Netherlands.

Please extend a warm welcome and a wave to the newcomers who recently closed on their homes. We are so glad you have joined our beautiful community and we are eager to meet you. A great welcome program awaits our newest neighbors, designed so that you start meeting people and learning about the area as soon as possible.
When the list of new homeowners is sent to the welcome volunteer committee, a welcome email is sent out to those on the list. Since the list is organized by unit, the welcome volunteer in the unit is notified when a new homeowner moves to the unit. Contact is then initiated by the unit volunteer to their new neighbor. The volunteer has lots of user-friendly information to share that can benefit the homeowner in getting settled and acclimated to the area. The volunteer extends a personal invitation to the webinar, which is held monthly for all new residents. This webinar is filled with information from a resident’s point of view, since it is the residents who have compiled this information. There is even an invitation to beoxe formally introduced to the community by having the newcomer’s photo included in the Robson Ranch Roundup.
