“I didn’t wear the right clothes!” “I need to pack extra clothing in my golf cart.” “I never know what to wear!” These were some of the comments heard on the SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) green in November.
One week, putters faced icy-cold gale-force winds and their golf balls seemed to skate across the green. Another morning was so warm that players continually peeled off layers. Then the lack of sunshine and bone chilling cold winds at the end of the month caused many members to rush into the Bistro, grab a hot drink, and try to thaw out their numb fingers.
Nevertheless, a substantial number of ladies putted and qualified for the monthly awards. The Ranchette Putters are proud to announce this month’s winners for the most holes-in-one (six or more) and the first, second, and third lowest average scores.
Four ladies rose to the weekly challenges in November and recorded some great gross scores. The third lowest gross averages were turned in by Sue Marx and Barbara Saffran with 38.500. Terri Stewart landed in second place with a gross average of 36.667. A stellar putting performance put Terri Menning on top with a gross average of 36.333.
Sinking the ball with one stroke takes a lot of talent and these ladies received prizes for their aces: Evie Thompson with 15; Evelyn Silver and Pam Engelhardt with 11; Linda Noble, Sue Marx, and Jacque Hendricks with 9; Terri Stewart, Terri Menning, and Corky Mansmith with 8; Judie Townsend, Jean Sticha, Mary Schlachter, Barbara Saffran, Sue Hynes, and Camille Esterman with 6.
After adjusting for handicaps, Ranchette Putters also congratulates our net winners for November: Audrey Gelb in third place with a net average of 37.050; Sue Hynes in second place with a net average of 36.633, and Pam Engelhardt in first place with a net average of 35.800.
Our club is proud of the talent displayed by all our winners and invites all female residents of SBR to join us for a fun weekly event. Check out our bulletin board by the Pro Shop for more information or contact Corky Mansmith at [email protected].
