The Jewelry and Lapidary Club mission is to provide SBR residents with the opportunity to experience the joy and satisfaction of creative expression in the art of lapidary and metalsmithing. We teach classes in all areas and can assist in all your projects.
So drop by the SBR Jewelry and Lapidary Room at the Arts and Crafts Center and check us out. We are open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a monitor available to answer all your questions. At that time you may sign up for our Introduction and Safety class with no obligation, see if you like what you see. If so you can join for $36 per year after taking the class.
You may also purchase some of our beautiful pieces at the Feb. 16 meeting of Women of Wine (WOW) at the Grill or Feb. 16 through 22 in the Jewelry Studio. All proceeds of the sales will be going to The Oliver (Ollie) Wells Fund for Neuroblastoma Research Birthday Fund. We will have a guest speaker—Ms. Susan Heard, senior director of distinguished giving at St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Ollie was the grandson of one of our own SaddleBrooke Ranch residents, Mrs. Jeanne Sherman. He passed at the age of 3 after a long, hard, superhero fight. Childhood neuroblastoma, statistics relating to prognosis and five-year survival rates are currently maintained by the Children’s Oncology Group.
Every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer. Your gifts don’t just support research at one hospital; they make the best research possible across the country—research that can save lives. Please donate to The Oliver Wells Fund for Neuroblastoma Research, a Hero Fund of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, to give more kids the chance to grow up and have a full and healthy life. In memory of Oliver Wells, we raise money for pediatric cancer research. Proceeds are used to fund research specifically targeted at treatments for childhood cancer. Kids like Ollie deserve a chance, and research is our only hope.
If you don’t find a piece of jewelry you like, please donate to The Oliver Wells Fund for Neuroblastoma Research to give more kids the chance to grow up and have a full and healthy life in the donation box at the WOW meeting or at the Jewelry studio.
