The Restaurant Dining Out Club will be holding its annual rotation in November. The rotation involves giving members the opportunity to be randomly moved to another group within the club. The purpose is to maximize the members’ opportunities to meet and to socialize with more people in the community. There are currently 10 groups, called “tables.” Each table has up to 20 people who have been getting together once a month. The members of the table take turns making arrangements for the monthly get-together.
The purpose of the club is to provide a means for people to get to know other SaddleBrooke Ranch residents while also getting to know Tucson restaurants. The club is open to all SaddleBrooke Ranch residents: couples as well as single people. It is a relaxed atmosphere. For ease and convenience, everyone gets their own check at the restaurants. There are two main guidelines: 1) members must host, that is to make arrangements for dinner once a year for their table, and 2) to host members of their table in their home after the meal for dessert and beverages.
The club has been successful and grown with the SBR community. It’s also been pragmatic in its approach to accommodate the growth. While the club started with 24 people per table, in 2016 the number will be reduced to 16. This can change if the table votes to have more members, which sometimes happens when there are snowbirds associated with a table.
The rotation will be done by random drawing on November 23 at 4:30 in the Bistro. Anyone interested in learning their assignment at that time is invited to attend. An email sent after the drawing will notify members of their table assignment. The year starts January 1, 2016 for the new assignments.
If anyone is interested in joining or has questions about the club, they are invited to contact Linda Harvey at [email protected].
