Iris Paper Folding—A New Art Class on May 22!
Erin Newman
Join us for another adventure with resident instructor, Erin Newman. She will teach you the art of iris paper folding. You may have seen the cards she makes in the recent SBR ARTwalk or at the SAAG Gallery at La Encantada. In this class, you will learn the art of paper folding and make a frame-able design all by using origami paper and floral foil.
Iris paper folding is a technique that involves folding strips of textured and/or colored paper and floral foil in such a way to form a design. The center of the design forms an iris—a shape reminiscent of the iris diaphragm of a camera lens.
No experience is necessary, it’s easy to learn and the designs are fascinating.
