USTA World Tennis Number Tournament at the Ranch

With the leadership and experience of two United States Tennis Association (USTA) social representatives, the SaddleBrooke Ranch Tennis Association (SBRTA) hosted the first USTA World Tennis Number tournament that took place here at the Ranch on May 11. Thirty-six players entered the tournament, with half of those living outside the Ranch, and some traveled over an hour to participate. According to Debbie Argabright, one of the event organizers, “It was an outstanding event in so many ways! Those who had not been to SBR before were amazed at our beautiful tennis community. We received a lot of compliments about how well the tournament was organized, the delicious lunches, and the competitive yet friendly tennis matches.”

SBRTA was fortunate to have received a number of donations for the event and the giveaway tickets sold like hot cakes! Since the event had only a few expenses, the SBRTA Board has decided to roll the profit forward to contribute to the club social event.

One of the goals of USTA is to grow tennis and inspire healthier people and communities everywhere. It makes sense that an active community like SaddleBrooke Ranch would be a perfect fit for their goal to bring people together as we grow interest in tennis.

The USTA staff are already asking if we would host another tournament. That makes us proud. And yes … we can’t wait to host again!

Lastly, it’s an exciting summer for professional tennis with the 2024 French Open that was held in June and the 2024 Wimbledon Championships on July 1 through July 14. Watching the thrilling tournament matches and witnessing the extraordinary talent of the players makes for great indoor entertainment on these hot summer days and evenings.
