Each year since 2010 the United Nations has recognized the first week of February as World Interfaith Harmony Week. Pioneering work of the “A Common Word Initiative” called for Muslim and Christian leaders to engage in dialog based on two fundamental tenets of both religions: Love of God and Love of the Neighbor. At Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church in Catalina, Ariz., we are actively engaged with Interfaith Community Services (ICS), which is housed in Oro Valley. ICS has just over 120 local faith organizations signed up as Faith Community Partners. Beyond ICS, our Mission Ministry Team actively engages with local organizations working on social justice for all, and in providing resources to individuals in need.
