Congratulations to the SaddleBrooke Ranch Tennis Association (SBRTA) Men’s (3.5/4.0) team for its big win in the Fall 2024 Tucson Interclub League! The Tucson Interclub League challenges teams across the Tucson area to compete against each other in weekly matches. The Fall 2024 schedule ran from October through December of 2024. Interclub leagues offer players an opportunity to test their competitive skills against other players and teams in the region.
SBRTA competed against three other accomplished teams: Oro Valley/El Conquistador Tennis Club, Sun City Vistoso Tennis Club, and our friendly rival, the SaddleBrooke Tennis Club. The SBRTA team ended the season with a 7-2 record, as first place victors. The Team includes Mark Adamson, captain, and Marc Argabright, co-captain. Additional players are Tim Baker, Dennis Boilini, Mark Collins, Roger Cowles, John David, Gary Gilman, Michael McDonagh, Lee Stastny, Bruce Strickland, and Wayne Watkins.
According to Mark Adamson, the SBRTA team captain, the competition was fun, albeit rigorous. “We didn’t know what to expect from the other teams as far as the level of play. What we found was an incredibly proficient level of play from Oro Valley, Sun City, and SaddleBrooke. Several of us from the Ranch team also play USTA (United States Tennis Association) tennis in the Tucson area. What we experienced was on par with the play you see at the USTA level.”
Mark and his SBRTA team look forward to competing in the Spring 2025 Interclub League. Way to go, SBRTA Men’s Fall 2024 Champs! Best of luck in 2025.
